So today was a wonderful day :) This morning (after Jacob left for work, of course) our little, squeaky friend decided to appear. For some reason, I seem to be the only person in this house who sees the mice before they are stuck to the sticky pad (I forgot to mention that this has been our second mouse in the house....the first one was caught trying to steal the presents under the Christmas tree). Anyways, I sat down on the couch to eat my cereal and suddenly I see something moving-- very quickly. Sure enough it was our little friend! He ran to hide in the fire place...I set some traps and when Jacob got home, we had him! FINALLY...now I can sleep peacefully!
God still never ceases to amaze me. I just love the way that he provides exactly what you need at exactly the right time! Moving to Texas was hard. It was difficult to leave all of my family and friends behind. Even though I love being with Jacob, it was a tough adjustment. But right at my roughest moments, God provided in ways that I could have never imagined. Not only did He provide the perfect friends but he also lead us to a wonderful church home. I am so very thankful.
Some encouraging words that I have come to live by (from Matthew 6):
25“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? 26Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his lifeb? 28“And why do you worry about clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. 29Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 30If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? 31So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
We have been trying to get more involved with our church family. This fall Jacob coached Upward football and I was an Upward cheer leading coach-- boy, was that an experience! Even though I loved it, I still would have never seen myself coaching cheerleaders. However, God had a different opinion. We have recently signed up to teach the 4th graders on Wednesday nights. It has been an eye opening experience....but we love it.
Well I am a little behind in my lesson plans so I guess I should get to work. Did I mention that I love my job? Seven students and Fridays off, cant get much better than that :) Yes, today is my Friday!
