Wow! I am pretty bad at blogging regularly...but I am just so busy :) Sometimes I wish that life would just SLOW DOWN! Yesterday (Monday) was mine and Jacob's 6 month anniversary! It is so hard to believe that we have been married for half a year! We spent our anniversary exploring the great city of San Antonio. What a fabulous city! We stayed right on the Riverwalk (and we had a gorgeous view of the interstate...I mean the sky line). But I have to admit that I loved the view from our room on the 30th floor!
On Friday night we decided to be spontaneous! We started driving with no hotel reservations in place! (I know...its crazy). When we got to San Antonio, all the hotels were booked! To save money we decided to just park on the side of the interstate and sleep in the car....Yea Right :) We lucked up an found a awesome king suite at the....
Needless to say, it was very nice and affordable! :) When we first got in the room the door wouldn't lock! But have no fear!!! Jacob pushed the desk in front of the door and made sure to pull the metal door lock over! :) We really did have a blast! We woke up on Saturday morning, refreshed, and ready to hit the city! We walk out of the hotel and I think the RIVER MUST HAVE FLOODED! Roads were closed and water was everywhere! But we sure didn't let that stop us!
We couldn't check into our original hotel till 4:00 so we decided to do some exploring! The city is absolutely beautiful and I loved walking on the river walk! There was so much to do and see...but of course we headed to the Alamo first! It seemed a little be smaller than I thought it would be but it was still awesome to learn about all the history behind it!
Even though it was a cold and wet day we still had a great first day in San Antonio! We ate at a Mexican restaurant right on the river for lunch and then Jacob took me shopping at a local mall! On Sunday, the weather was much better! Even though it was still a little cold for me, the sun was out and the rain had cleared! We did a little more sight seeing and then went on a boat tour... it was pretty awesome and, of course, Jacob loved it :)
We had a great first vacation together (not including out Honeymoon)! It was very relaxing! San Antonio was the perfect "Getaway!"
Now, its back to work (for a three day week) AND I have a new children's book on the Alamo! :)
