Spring Break 2012

Game Night with the college group!
Well...Spring Break is over. Why does it always take forever to get here but a minute to leave!? Even though it flew by, I had a blast! Shelby and Rachel came to visit us at the beginning of the week. I really enjoyed having them here and I am so sad they had to go back.  While they were here we went to Galveston, the Houston Rodeo (it was my first time going too!), and the Galleria (And yes I drove to every place- minus the rodeo!) Even though it was rainy during the first couple of days we made the best of it!
Making cookies- Pink Lemonade YUM!
The Zack Brown Band- The Devil Went Down To Georgia
Kinect-Just Dance
Kemah Boardwalk
I had such a great time with them! I took them to the airport on Wednesday morning and when I got home the house seemed so QUITE! I miss everyone back in Alabama!
Wednesday night, Jacob and I got to go back to the rodeo (thanks to Shane and Crystal). We had fabulous all you can eat seats down at the very bottom of the arena! I really like the rodeo. It is ALOT different than the one in Montgomery. A little bigger...haha! I am definitely looking forward to next year already!
Awesome Seats!
Sweet Crystal
Love it! God has blessed us with some really good friends out here!
The Band Perry
The rest of the week served for a good catch-up time for me.  Then on Saturday, I went to watch Jacob and some other men from church run in the Warrior Dash! They had a blast! The Warrior Dash is made up of many different obstacles---very muddy obstacles! It looks so fun!
The Warriors!
Yes, that is Jacob jumping over fire!

The Warriors after the race!
They guys are running another one in May! But this time there will be a group of girls...and yes, for some reason I signed up! Haha I know it will be worth it! Be on the lookout for pictures!

Spring Break was amazing! But I missed my students so much! I can't believe this school year is almost over! Even though I am excited for next year, I will miss my sweet class so much! Here is a few things that have been buzzing around in Mrs. Powell's class!
My surgeons....ready for word surgery!
Contraction Surgery- They had to cut out the letters they did not need...
and tape the letters for the contraction back together and add a Band-Aid for the apostrophe!
They  loved it!
The 100th Day of School! We made portraits of us-- at a hundred years old!

All is well in the Powell House. But I do have a prayer request: It looks like we are going to get a chance to go to Africa on a mission trip this summer. A group of people from church are going! I am so excited and I know that this is part of God's plan for my life (and it has been something I have been called to do for a long time) but I am so afraid of flying that far! Please pray that all fear is COMPLETELY gone! I know God has great plans for us and I definitely DO NOT want fear to stand in the way!
