Powell Adventures??? (If you wanna call it that)

Our house is contaminated with the stomach virus...Beware! I got it first on Wednesday night and it was so horrible! On Thursday afternoon my right side started hurting really bad so we loaded up to head to the Emergency Room.  We got there at 6:00 p.m. and didn't leave till 4:00 Friday morning....talk about a long night.  Though it was scary at the time....all is well and now we have some pretty funny stories.
Boy, there sure are some interesting characters in the emergency room...Jacob made a lot of friends.  He kept making me laugh, which in turn made my side hurt worse. After waiting for about four hours, a lady who was in and out visiting her mother informed me that she was about to go raise cane for me (Since we had been waiting so long).  When we finally got a room, we waited about thirty more minutes until a nurse came in to talk with me.  She wrote down everything I said on a paper napkin (Jacob thought that was pretty funny). She gave me a gown to put on and shut the curtain.  Well, we had some major problems with that gown.  For being an engineer, Jacob wasn't very much help.  After about ten minutes of Jacob trying to figure it out, I finally realized that we needed to button the sleeves together and then tie it in the back.  So altogether it took us 15 to 20 minutes to get the hospital gown on.  Jacob was cracking up and I was sure they were going to kick us out.  After another half hour or so, another nurse came in to talk with me. After I told her everything that was going on she was certain that it was my gallbladder. She ordered an ultrasound and a CT scan...and I finally got some medicine to ease the pain.  At this point, I got very worried about what all was going to happen (I know you are thinking: Bekah worrying?....No way!) But as soon as they gave some medicine and fluids, I started to relax a little.
It was about 11:00 and Jacob hadn't eaten dinner...so we decided to call my "brother" to see if he could bring Jacob some food. Yea, I didn't know I had a brother either until he walked in our room.  That was the only way they would let him back to see us. Jared was a great help; he got Jacob some food and hung out with us for a while.  We are very thankful for the friends that God has blessed us with.
After the ultrasound, a guy came and rolled me down the hall to get a CT scan. It took a few hours to get all the results in...but I was thankful that they came back negative for a gallbladder infection and appendicitis.  The doctor and staff determined that I had the stomach bug which had dehydrated me.   I also have about 5 kidney stones. They gave me some prescriptions and finally sent us home at 4:00.
I am so thankful for Jacob...he always helps me relax and laugh in stressful situations. I don't know what I would do without him. He had to go to work today but he did get off around 2:30...but now he has the stomach bug. Please be praying for him.
Also I have another prayer request.  We met a couple last night that didn't have any insurance.  They were in the waiting room with us and then ended up being in the room across from us.  As the wife was heading home, she told us that they thought her husband had kidney failure.  Please pray that God will touch and heal him, as well as provide a way to cover all of their medical bills.
I guess tomorrow will be a cleaning day for me :) But I am so very thankful that all is well.
P.s. Jacob has finally fallen asleep :)
